Regional IM/IT Strategic Plan

Better Information, Better Patient Care

In March 2011, the CHIS Board of Directors approved the Regional IM/IT Strategic Plan. The Plan is the culmination of several months of work undertaken by CHIS, with support from the ESC LHIN and Deloitte Inc., to develop a strategic and tactical roadmap to position CHIS to be able to continue to deliver on its mission and advance the pursuit of our vision. The Plan sets out the activities that will  support the goals of the ESC LHIN, eHealth Ontario and the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care as they relate to IM/IT as a strategic enabler in strengthening Ontario’s health care system.

Toward an Electronic Health Record

CHIS is working to advance a number of eHealth Ontario priorities at the regional level with the end goal of having an electronic health record in place for all Ontarians. The alignment of these projects is critical to supporting broader provincial objectives and is illustrated as follows:
